Elderkind
Elderkind is a short documentary film project exploring the voices, stories, and lived experiences of older adults. The project is designed to capture reflections on life, aging, resilience, and cultural change, creating space for perspectives that are often overlooked in contemporary storytelling. The project is currently in-progress.
Work
Independent filmmaker leading concept development, narrative development, filming, and post-production.
Concept Development
I conceived Elderkind as a documentary storytelling project centered on the wisdom and lived experiences of older adults. The film explores themes of aging, cultural change, and personal reflection, creating space for participants to share insights shaped by decades of life experience.
Narrative Structure
Through interview design and story development, I am shaping the film's narrative direction and thematic structure. Guided conversations with participants will form the emotional foundation of the project and inform the overall story arc.
Filmmaking & Post-Production
I am independently filming and producing the project, capturing interviews and supporting visuals designed to preserve the intimacy of the conversations. The film will be edited to highlight the subjects’ voices and reflections while maintaining a contemplative, human-centered tone.
Outcome
In production Spring 2026.
